  • Pansy Assorted 10cm

    $2.39
Pansy.... come in a massive range of colours these days,  there are literally so many to choose from of different sizes and colours, I could go on forever with how many you can choose, but what we supply is based on what has been our best sellers over the past 26 years. Pansy are an annual plant, and just a larger flowering form of Viola, and like Viola Sorbet but we have found that they continue to survive in our garden for up to 3 years after initial planting, if they are cared for correctly. Pansy prefer a well lit to partial shaded area in moist free draining soils and respond well to regular liquid feeds with a seaweed solution, as well as a cut back every few month. Pansies are  long flowering, they will flower from about March until the heat of Summer, which here in the Dandenong Ranges, is generally start of January  and will grow 15cms tall by up to 25cms wide and like there smaller flowering relatives, Violas, Pansies can also have a dramatic, vibrant effect on your garden during the Winter Months. I also find that Pansies, like Violas,  are prolific flowering and just look amazing on mass, whether it is in your garden beds, or as a border, mass planted, or even in containers, urns, old wheel barrows, old boots, pots and hanging baskets, I have even seen old wrecks of cars with their boots or bonnets planted out with them, Pansies are sure to give you plenty of joy and colour up the dull Winter months, while still going strong and complimenting other Spring flowers all the way to Christmas, we have loads available, unless sold out and waiting for our next batch to grow. Pansies are $2.39 each or you can get 5 for $10, so much cheaper and more rewarding than a bunch of flowers, we also have them available in gift pots and hanging baskets, come check out our range today.

Primula Acaulis grow 12cm tall by 12 cm wide and prefer humus, moist, well drained soil in a part shade position. As a flower finishes, just snip it off to open up space for the buds underneath to come through and flower. Regular liquid feeding with a seaweed solution will help to keep these beauties flowering for long periods throughout the winter months At Paddys Plants we have Primulas available from late May until August..... unless sold out !!  Currently we buy them as mixed seed, so we never know what colours we might get, so  if you would like specific colours, you will have to come into nursery.... in years to come we will advertise straight colours.

  • Primula Malacoides 10cm

    $2.39
Primula Malacoides are  a vibrant winter flowering annual, that will grow up 30cms tall in semi sunlight or slightly shaded gardens. Even though it is an annual, I find that it self seeds and continues to come up for many years after initial planting. Primula Malacoides come in a range of colours from light to deep pinks, purples and white, at Paddys Plants, we have tried all the colours in the past and find the most popular 2 colours are the ones pictured.... deep Pink & white, so that is all we stock. Primula Malacoides will flower from July through to November and possible longer if the start to Summer is cool enough, not uncommon here in the Dandenong ranges to still see them in flower in January. Primula Malacoiodes responds well to dead heading the spent flowers, so as to encourage new flowers to form and enjoys moist, well draining soils, with a monthly liquid feed of seaweed solution for best results. Primula Malacoides are versatile in the garden as a border or just spot groups of colour to liven up a dull area, during the Winter months. The look equally as good in pots or containers around the home on decks or patios, or in mixed planters with other blooms. Our Primula Malacoides are $2.39 each or you can get 5 for $10 and are available for purchase from our nursery from Mid  May onwards unless sold out... which they always do quickly, so don't wait for Winter to come before you grab some of these vibrant beauties to colour up your garden.
  • Viola Sorbet Assorted 10cm

    $2.39
Viola Cornuta Sorbet.... come in a massive range of colours these days, many years ago they were referred to as Johnny Jump Ups, which is an old fashioned form, that really isn't as exciting as the range available today. Viola Sorbet are an annual plant, but we have found that they continue to survive in our garden for up to 3 years after initial planting, if they are cared for correctly. Violas prefer a well lit to partial shaded area in moist free draining soils and respond well to  regular liquid feeds with a seaweed solution, as well as a cut back every few month. Viola Sorbet is long flowering, they will flower from about March until the heat of Summer, which here in the Dandenong Ranges, is generally start of January. Viola Sorbet will grow 15cms tall by up to 25cms wide and  are smaller flowering than Pansies, but can have a dramatic, vibrant effect on your garden during the Winter Months. I prefer Violas over Pansies, as I find that when the weather gets harsh here, and we get hail or snow, they hold up better and don't shred as easy as the pansy flowers can. I also find that they are prolific flowering and just look amazing on mass, whether it is in your garden beds, or as a border, mass planted, or even in containers, urns, old  wheel barrows, old boots,  pots and hanging baskets, I have even seen old wrecks of cars with their boots or bonnets planted out with them, Violas are sure to give you plenty of joy and colour up the dull Winter months, while still going strong and complimenting other Spring flowers all the way to Christmas, we have loads available, unless sold out and waiting for our next batch to grow. Viola Sorbet are $2.39 each or you can get 5 for $10, so much cheaper and more rewarding than a bunch of flowers, we also have them available in gift pots and hanging baskets, come check out our range today.
