    Brunnera Macrophylla Jack Frost has large heart shaped  silver & green foliage and sprays of cool blue forget me not type flowers from early spring well through the summer months.  Jack Frost will grow 50cms tall by 50cms wide in a dappled light position with moist well drained soil types, you do not want it in direct sun after mid morning as the foliage will scorch or burn. Jack Frost is great in containers, can be used in mixed hanging baskets or on its own, is beautiful in shaded garden beds and makes a lovely border along shady paths and winding tracks in your garden.

    Possibly one of the most common and favourite plants used around the world for low to medium hedges for hundreds of years......   Buxus Sempervirens, or more well known as English Box, is a very hardy evergreen shrub with small deep green leaves, that thrives in a wide range of soils and conditions, but prefers a sunny open position in moist to well drained soils. English Box can tolerate a range of conditions including frosts and can also grow up to 2 metres tall, given plenty of time and love, but, with regular clipping and maintaining,  is still ideal as a hedge or border anywhere around 40cms tall to the 2 metre maximum. The dense easy to manage foliage of English Box, makes it ideal for hedges, borders, or clipping into topiary and shapes. English box looks just as good in the garden, or in pots and containers and is easy to grow and easy to look after.... it is the perfect beginner plant. we try to have plenty of stock of English Box throughout the year, but being a very popular line, it always sells out. currently we are offering 20 English box tubes for $42.50 at the nursery.

    Correa Glabra or the rock Correa  is a hardy evergreen shrub with attractive tubular pendulous lime green flowers during the cooler months, which may vary in colour to an almost yellow tinge...... other forms of rock correa get a pink to red tinge, but not this variety, from our observations over the last 24 years of growing them.  Correa Glabra is great for attracting nectar feeding birds into your garden and can grow to 2.5 metres tall by 2 metres wide in a full sun to partial shades aspect. Fertilise in the spring with an Australian native fertiliser and mulch well to suppress weeds and conserve soil moisture.

    Gardenia Florida is probably the most commonly  used and popular Gardenia, because it is easy to grow and looks amazing, it is one of my all time favourite plants in the garden, for many reasons, but, enough of that,  here we go with the formal description... Gardenia Florida has large Double milky white flowers that contrast attractively against its glossy dark green leaves. The Flowers have a heavenly perfume which can be enjoyed from late spring through the warmer months, so if you like a fragrant garden, plant some Daphne for winter to spring fragrance, then Gardenias and Boronias for Spring to the end of Summer fragrance. Gardenia Florida enjoys full sun to partial shaded areas, will grow approximately 1metre tall by 1 metre wide, needs protection from frosts and prefers moist free draining soils, not wet soils. Gardenia Florida looks equally as good in gardens as it does in pots & containers, best suited near windows and doors of homes, or focal points around your garden, so you can enjoy that exquisite perfume when in flower. Gardenia Florida can be used in a low hedging format, looks great as topiary balls ( when not flowering), and flowers can be picked and put inside home ( much like Daphne...for a few days), to enjoy the fragrance.
