Aquilegia or better known as Grannys Bonnet, are an easy to grow perennial with striking spurred flowers that appear in the spring months.
Grannys Bonnet can grow up to 50cms tall, by 50cms wide in full sun to partial shaded gardens, in rich – humus well drained soils and can make an ideal cut flower for inside the home.
Grannys Bonnet are ideal in garden beds, mixed borders, cottage gardens, woodland gardens, pots, containers, mixed planters… their uses are endless.
Fertilise in the spring and remove spent flower heads to prolong flowering. In the autumn months, cut the foliage back to ground level in preparation for dormancy over the winter months.
