Parthenocissus Tricuspidata, or more commonly known as Boston Ivy, is a hardy, deciduous climber with outstanding foliage that emerges coppery red in Spring, turns green in the Summer months and becomes a blaze of autumn colours as the winter approaches, before becoming deciduous ( loses leaves), over the colder months.
An interesting fact about Boston Ivy is, that it is not actually an Ivy, or a member of the Ivy family, Boston Ivy is actually a member of the Vitaceae, or grape family, but a highly ornamental variety that doesn’t bear any fruit and is grown and used simply for its stunning foliage display and fast growing nature.
Boston Ivy is a self clinging climber ideal for covering almost anything, which can reach almost any height imaginable and does not need support.
Boston Ivy is frost tolerant, has bright autumn colour and prefers well drained soils in full sun to partial shade.
