Digitalis Mertonensis or the strawberry foxglove is ideal for cottage gardens and forms rosettes of large bristly deep green leaves that in the summer months will have tall elegant flower spikes carrying tubular blooms, the colour of crushed strawberries.
Strawberry foxglove performs well in moist to well drained soils in a sunny to partly shaded position, protected from strong winds and will grow up to 75cms tall by 75 cms wide.
Strawberry foxglove is great for adding height and colour to gardens, perennial borders, summer bedding displays, pots, containers, mixed planters or plantings and also makes a great cut flower option for flower arrangements.
Strawberry foxglove is one of my favourite summer flowers in my garden and im sure it will be your as well.
