Dodonea Visoca Purpurea is a fast growing upright evergreen Australian native shrub with dramatic purplish bronze to violet, foliage which develop masses of purplish – red winged seed capsules instead of flowers, during the spring to summer months.
Dodonea will grow 2 – 3metres tall by 1 – 2 metres wide in full sun to partial shaded positions and will tolerate frosts, dry periods and coastal conditions once established.
Dodonea are tough and hardy in most soil conditions, even poor soils, but perform best in a well drained soil position.
Dodonea are ideal as a feature tree, fast growing screen or hedge, foliage plants, native or exotic gardens or for foliage as indoor decorations.
