Salvia Farinacea Shining Sea is a perennial plant with a bushy habit of small green foliage. Shining Sea produces flowers with blues and whites marbled through, from mid Spring right through Summer to the end of Autumn….. Shining Sea is highly attractive to bees and butterflies in our garden and is a real standout every spring and summer.
Mirage Salvias have Excellent heat tolerance with masses of bright flowers are tough, hardy, and an attractive pollinator plant, to bring birds, bees and butterflies into your garden.
Shining Sea is a compact shrub that will thrive in a full sun to partly shaded position in moist to well drained soils and will tolerate light frosts.
Shining Sea will grow up to 40cms tall by up to 40cms wide and with their stunning display of flower stems, they are ideal for perennial borders, informal borders, cottage gardens and rockeries. Salvias look great in pots, mixed planters and containers, but will really thrive when planted out in the garden.
Cut back after flowering to encourage strong new fresh growth and re flowering.
I find that my Salvias in my garden, respond well to a regular liquid feed, once per month will be suffice and an annual feed of a good quality fertiliser, like yates agriboost, in the Spring months, will help to keep them well nourished and performing throughout all seasons
